A Beginners Guide To Creating A Natural Pharmacy

Over the last few weeks, I have been listening to various radio interviews with artists such as Erykah Badu and Queen Aura. Both women were speaking about their spiritual journeys, holistic healing, and the work they do to help women heal from womb trauma, etc.

The one thing that stood out for me from listening to these interviews was when Queen Aura referred to our homes as being our own natural pharmacy. I really felt like I could relate when I think about some of the products and or foods I have in my cupboards.

When I started my journey of holistic health & well-being it was important to me to have items at home to support me even if they were products, that I didn’t use every day.

I want to share some of these products with you so you can think about creating your own natural pharmacy. See below for your beginner's guide.

Beginner's Guide to Creating A Natural Home Pharmacy

Essential oils- I love my essential oils they have so many uses and benefits. Oils such as Frankincense, Lavender, and Peppermint are ones I ensure I keep topped up on a regular basis. These oils can help with a variety of ailments such as digestion, and stomach ache, soothe a headache, and assist with a good night's sleep.

Herbal tea – You’ve heard me mention before how much I love herbal tea. Some of my favourites include Chamomile, Jasmine Green Tea, Raspberry Leaf tea, Dandelion herbs, and Elderberry tea. These teas in particular support our digestive system, and female reproductive system and are also good sources of vitamin C which as we know is needed for a healthy immune system.

Superfoods – This is my personal list of superfoods because they are just great for supporting our immune system, and gut health and have natural anti-viral or inflammatory properties. I am talking about foods such as dark leafy vegetables, fresh ginger, limes, cayenne pepper, and organic apple cider vinegar.

Supplements – I do often ensure I have certain supplements in the cupboard such as Oregano (this is anti-bacterial) probiotics and digestive enzymes.

Now, you have probably seen a pattern as most of the products being referred to are food and or drink-related and either support gut health or our immune system. This is because most ailments are known to start in the gut and when our immune system is low it can trigger various symptoms.

There you go a quick share on items you can keep in the home as part of your natural pharmacy.
