When the female body changes i.e go through puberty, PMS, and or menopause, our lifestyle and eating habits may also need to adapt to keep us at our best.
Our body is forever talking to us e.g. if we eat something our stomach doesn’t like it will tell us by giving us wind, stomach cramps, and or may bloat. Can you imagine the talking it does when our hormones are out of whack?
I can tell you now the conversation gets a bit crazy, we can get bloated, we can struggle to lose weight, we can have some serious mood swings, have painful periods, experience water retention, hot flushes, vaginal dryness, acne, and the list goes on.
It is a lot to go through especially when we are not sure how to support the body as it goes through some of these changes.
If you feel that the body is talking to you and you have ruled out pregnancy and menopause then you may want to try these simple steps below to try and support your hormone health.
Cut down on the carbohydrates especially if you have PCOS, that doesn't mean you remove them altogether but do eat smaller portions
Eat more healthy fats, the female body needs good fats as they are so important for our hormone health
Add more antioxidants to your diet to help your body fight the free radicals we are exposed too
Keep yourself hydrated on water, yep you have probably heard it all the time the body is 60% water and we need to ensure we are drinking an adequate amount to help flush our bodies of toxins
